"Srange New Worlds" Thread

to seek out new life and... JK!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A pale gryphon runt limped through the undergrowth, badly beaten up. He had seen something strange before the distruction of the entire kingdom he had been wandering (Well, I've got to explain WW and Silver leaving us SOME WAY). The black wave had consumed the land, and him with it, but some way, he had escaped.
And now he wandered about, desperate for help.
(OOC: Yes, my persona counts as an NPC.)
"Elsewhere" Thread
A chilly wind howled through the blasted rubble of what had once been a thriving fortress city. Decaying bodies littered the streets, and scavenging monsters ran amok within the crumbling walls.
At one end of the city lay a large heap of rubble, where a successful inn had once stood. It was a haphazard pile of broken rafters, bricks, and metal.
Suddenly, a blinding flash of light disintegrated the pile of rubble from the inside. An elven woman clad in scratched blue- black armor, sword strapped to her back and staff in hand, stood there, her chest heaving. She leaned heavily on her staff, looking around, as cold gusts blew past her.
She closed her eyes for a moment, in silent memorial to the hundreds of corpses scattered across the city. Then she steadied herself and walked away, trying hard to ignore the Black Wind that howled madly all about her.
Komera stumbled over a stone, once part of a wall. It had been hours since he had made his way out of the scrub, but still he saw no one.
Wounded, he sat on his haunches and cried... it is a very pathetic thing to hear a gryphon cry.
UONPCer
Liah groaned and shook her head, her head felt like it had been stepped on, small wonder since she was trailing Laubea and was caught under a bridge.
She looked around, rubbing her head with a flexible paw. The destruction around her was a shock. Her senses dulled as she tried to sort out what had happened, she was unaware of the gryphon not far away.
FHN
**~~**
Laubea was no where near Liah anymore... he had been carried farther downstream until the earth had opened benieth him and swallowed him up. Fortunatly... or unfortunatly... that didn't kill him since he was incapable of dying...
But for the time being, he was out of the way (Hey, I just realized, since Kitra, Gni, and Em'eelaii are on First World, Windor's destruction didn't touch them... though I'm sure Kitra would have felt Liah's pain anyway... am I right?) and unable to move.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Komera finally picked himself up, having cried out long enough. He was after all a MeAjur, the highest rank a fighting gryphon can achieve, and one didn't become a MeAjur by crying.

He wandered farther along until he saw flames coming out from under a bridge... he didn't smell the firewolf... bird of prey smelling is an oxymoron, and Komera's head was that of a golden eagle (even if it wasn't colored that way).

He wandered over, seeing that the flames were comming off a wolf. His first thought was that the wolf was on fire, but he was confused, why wasn't the wolf being consumed by the flames? Maybe it was magic, he reasoned.

"Do you hear me?" Komera asked. He had been about to aske if Liah was okay, but when one is under a bridge, the OBVIOUS answer is no. Besides, he needed to know if Liah was conscience.

(OOC: I want to see Komera and Tadrith together...hehe!)

The voice suddenly got through Liah's shock and she jumped, smacking her head on a chunk of mortar. She sniffed the air and smiled at the familiar smell of feathers and fur, although it wasn't who she thought it would be.

"Tadrith?" She turned and gaped. "Not Tadrith.. who are you?" She climbed out from under the bridge, stumbling on the rubble of what was once Windor and faced the unfamiliar gryphon. "Hm... I've never seen another gryphon before... you're huge."

Liah was used to Tad's size and since Tad was still a fledgling he wasn't that big. A gryphon this big was a shock to Liah.

**~~**

The pale gryphon runt looked himself over, "Me? Huge?" He looked back at the wolf. "Are you sure you're okay?" Like most steriotyped smart people, this gryphon was slim and small. But because he had spent years training under the MeAjur Kotoric Dima, he did know how to make use of what little he did have.

"C'mon, we've gotta get you some help," Komera said to Liah.

He took one last look around before helping Liah up. The place looked just like the aftermath of what happened to his homeland. The Battle Chapter (type of gryphon) Sequal (big town) of the Dry Mesas (geography) of Mala (country) had been home to many, and one day, every Battle Chapter gryphon there was wiped out.

Only one gryphon who lived there escaped, and only by the grace that the dostern (Prince) Kemoya Ahnan wasn't anywhere near there. At the very moment the gryphons were being slaughtered, Prince Kemoya Ahnan had unknowingly been defending himself from his reanimated father.

"Kahnanga Ahnan wouldn't, so I will," Komera said, cursing his father's name.

(OOC: Remember the tag line on my emails?)

The MeAjur Komera Waddi

**~~**

(OOC: Yep, sure do =) )

"You? Not huge?" Liah looked the gryphon over again. "You hurt?" She circled Komera and looked at his head. "Oh well.. Who's Kahnanga? And what wouldn't he..he? do that you will?" She dropped her head between her forelegs and grimaced. "My head hurts.."

Liah looked up and surveyed the wreckage. "Geez.. what a mess..I need to tell Kitra.." She sat down and tried to contact her liren through the bond they shared.

'Hey Kit.. Windor's gone.. destroyed..I can't keep contact for much long-' "Oh crapo.. I couldn't tell her much.. I hope she tells Gniyalpi.." Liah was slightly surprised she remembered the name of the odd man Kitra was with.

"Oh no!" She jumped up, startling Komera slightly. "I lost Laubea!" She began to dart through the city, hoping to find some sign of him, she had no knowledge he wasn't around anymore.

~~~~~~~~~~
Tad groaned and uncurled his wings, wincing at the pain of his aching joints. Slowly he opened his eyes and blinked. He was in a tree, the rest of the party was nowhere in sight. "Aw man.." In the distance he saw smoke rising, he had a pretty good idea where it was coming from. "Windor! It's burning! It's on fiiiiire!!" The branch he was laying on snapped, and naturally, he went down with it.
As soon as he was able, Tad picked himself off the ground and began walking, his wings hurt too much to fly. "This is gonna be a long walk.." He muttered angrily and began limping, his left hind foot hurt almost as much as his wings.
**~~**
(OOC: We're going to need a new thread soon. This is sort of a catch up of all the characters I do as UONPCer.)
Tadrith had forgotten Lix (actually, so did the typer, but that's beside the point). He was lying in a heap, barely recognisable as alive. Even his tail was nothing but chared flesh.
He summed up just about everyone's feelings in one word... "Moan..."
~~~~~~~~~~

Komera blinked. "Lobo's here?" He was incapable of pronouncing Laubea's name correctly, so he called him what almost everyone else did: Lobo. "And Lord Kreterra? What about him?" No gryphon from the R'itni Islands, save for those in captivity, had names begining with anything other that 'K', and having anything other than three sylables. Gniyalpi didn't start with a 'K', so the gryphons gave him another name.

Komera watched Liah bound about. "Will you slow down?????"

~~~~~~~~~~
Laubea was still buried. He wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
~~~~~~~~~~

Caleb pushed himself up. He had been at a computer, hacking no less, when suddenly he felt like he was on fire. But when the feeling passed, he was left under the roof... and not much else... of his former apartment. The unfortunate thing was, he was starting to make progress in discovering what he had hacked that caused all the members of FORCE and all their next of kin to try to kill him.

And Teron had been right, it was something to do with the Giant of Bab-il. Caleb had discovered that someone or something had decided to let the robot do what it was suppose to do... destroy the world... The information came a little too late...

~~~~~~~~~~
Trayce bounded up. It wasn't a pleasent feeling to have an airship ripped completely away from you while it was in mid air... not to mention the trip down. She was no longer equine, thank the gods that curse was off... but she wasn't dressed either.... Oh dear...
~~~~~~~~~~

Gni turned and faced Kitra. "Kit, what is it?" He frowned, he could tell it was something bad. He looked at 'Im'ili, to see if she had the same look of dread, she didn't. "Kit?" he pressed on.

Marrah limped out of the ruined gates of Whitemoon Hold. Her leg hurt like Ifrit's fire, but she'd used all her magic getting out of the ruins of the inn, and she couldn't seem to find a bottle of Tincture or Ether that wasn't shattered. So, she limped along as best she could, headed to the south, where the city of Turbek had previously lain. She doubted it would actually be there, but perhaps she would find survivors of whatever had happened to Windor.

The land itself was even more devastated than Whitemoon had been. A few sickly sprigs of grass managed to hold onto the barren soil. As she neared the beginnings of a forest, there were barely any trees left, and even less of any other vegetation. Tired, she walked over to a small cluster of trees and sat wearily, leaning her head against one.

As the Black Wind continued to howl like a flock of banshees about her, Lady Marrah fell asleep.

(OOC:I am surely very cursed.. I'm typing for Loch now.. and since Em'eelaii's over here.. ugh!)

Tad stopped short, charred ear tufts flicking back at the slight noise behind him. "Who's there?" He limped back to the spot he heard it and looked around. Suddenly.. he heard it again, a low moan.

"Who..." He looked down. "Lix!" He jumped away, he had been standing over the fox-man, almost stepping on him.. but not quite. "Oh no.. you look awful..." He layed down beside Lix's form and patiently waited for him to wake up.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Loch spit out a mouthful of turf and cracked his neck as he stood. He firmly pushed the broken bones together and stretched. It was a good thing was immortal..unless.. He reached into his robes and pulled out a silver cord with a small green jade on it.
"Phew... It's not broken.." His head fell to one side and he growled and pushed it back. "Holy fires of Vaalgard... I'm sick of this already.." He grabbed a bent gold plate from the ground and wrapped it around his neck. "Now to find Ran and Trayce..." Loch sighed and began walking, hoping nothing else was broken.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Liah stopped for a moment to let Komera catch up. "Yeah, I was traveling with him to find.. this one guy... Meset I think it was.. so I could find my lir. And who is Krettera?" Liah sat down on her haunches and looked around.

"By the Huntress of the Cheysuli.." She muttered, the Huntress was one of the Cheysuli gods. "I can't find anything..." she sniffed the air. "Hmm... odd... I smell gryphon." Komera cleared his throat.

"Well.. your down wind... it must be Tad!" She began running toward a small copse of trees at the edge of the rubble.

~~~~~~~~~
Kit opened her mouth as if to say something, then dropped to her knees. "Windor.... it's.. gone.. Liah told me. She didn't say anything else.." She groaned and struggled to rise. "This can't be... everything's gone..." She looked up and blinked. "Liah is a little sore... she's still alive though.. which bodes well for me. I don't know anything else though.. sorry.."
~~~~~~~~~~~

Em'eelaii frowned thoughtfully. "What's a 'Windor'? And what's a 'Liah'?" She scratched at her head in confusion, reached down and helped Kitra to her feet. "Well... whatever it is, you must not like the idea of that." She turned to Gniyalpi.

"Could you tell me what a Windor is?" The idea of something that made Kitra fall to her knees wasn't too frightening, Kitra fell a lot. "Well.. we must be going on... I should have been home days ago.. I was stuck in that trap for two days.. Father must be worried.." She began to walk towards the deeper part of the woods.

**~~**

(OOC: Let's try this in alphabetical order... oh, and I'm adding a new character... it's about time someone explained what happened.)

~~~~~~~~~~~
Caleb Michael 'Dacken' Harris
Caleb shook his head clear and finally left the shambles of his appartment in Turbek. He wandered through the blackened world, slowly realizing the magnitude of what happened.
A faint noise caught his attention. He limped over to the source, catchin his wings on various things on the way over. When he reached the spot, to his amazement... a woman laid unconscience. She had been wounded beyond belief.
She was also absolutly cold.
Not seeing anything that could act as a blanket, or anything to fuel a fire... Caleb resorted to craddling the woman and wrapping his large dragon-like wings around her. (It's Lady Marrah, just in case you can't tell.) He hoped she wouldn't suddenly awaken and misinterprate what he was doing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Farraphan Dragoon Trayce Iris

Trayce eventually found some rags to clothe herself with. She then sat hard by a blackened stream. She couldn't even find her oversized spear, or even Ranagan. "Sir Ran, where have you gone?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gaudpi Gniyalpi A'nals
Gni bent over Kitra while looking at 'Im'ili to answer her question. "Windor is a world, separate from this one. A very rich world... or at least was if Kit is correct. Liah is her... uh... friend (he had been about to say firewolf... but he was afraid that would imply possession) who was left behind.
He picked Kitra up and walked behind 'Im'ili who lead the way. When they got there, several residents came over. Some astonished to see 'Im'ili, some worried about Kitra who looked hurt... some curious over Gni (how many brown eyed blonds are there in the world?)
"Im'ili, what's going on?" Gni asked, confused over the residents responces.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Laubea Wehseta

Laubea was still buried. No update here.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lix Fothenk
Lix sat up, "Oh, I don't feel so good." He didn't look good either, he still looked like a pile of burnt flesh... which he was.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

The MeAjur Komera Waddi

Komera caught up with Liah. "Tad? Who's Tad? He's a gryphon? Why doesn't his name start with a 'K' and have three sylables?" In his excitement, he overshot Liah. "Um... Lord Kreterra is a black Battle Chapter gryphon... no... actually..."

He sighed and started over. "The humans call him Gniyalpi, but we gryphons call him Lord Kreterra... and just what are you anyway?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wingedmene
(OOC: Pronounciation- Winged Meh Nay... mene is greek for moon)
A being, new to the land, stepped out of a warp. His hair was white, but his face youthful, he was only in his twenties. He had white wings, and a golden lion tail... Wingedmene was half vampyre, half gryphon.
"Yes, master, I have arrived and it is exactly as you have caused it to be." He said to something only he could hear. "It is prime for your arrival." The smile that donned his face was sadistic and crule... the world would belong to his master upon his arrival in just a few days.
"Very good, master. I will..."
~~~~~~~~~~~

Wingedmene isn't really bad... Drake should know what's going on from expirence in #Games-RPG on MSN.

**~~**

OOC: My apologies to you, Komera, if I don't write Dacken quite the way I should...

As the sun began to rise, Marrah slowly awakened.  Her head was throbbing, and briefly she felt as though she would throw up.   Her hand moved a bit, and felt something leathery under her palm.  She opened her eyes and sat up to see a decidedly odd, gargoylish man sitting beside her.

"You're awake," he said.

"Who...are you?" she said, rubbing her temples.

"You can call me Dacken," he said.

She nodded.  "Thank you for your...assistance, Dacken.  I am the Lady Marrah."

He watched with the slightest hint of a grin as she got to her feet, bowed to him, then proceeded to pick up the few things she had brought with her.  Leaning heavily on some sort of staff, she came back to stand beside him.

"You have a lot of stamina," he said, raising an eyebrow.  "Most normal humans would find it very hard to be up and about with the kind of injuries you've sustained."

"I am elvish, not human," she said, a trifle snappishly.  "And I have trained as a warrior nearly my entire life.  Little comparison can therefore be made between me and a normal human."

Well, she was feisty. Or maybe just tired. "True," he said, getting to his feet.

(OOC:Well, Em's comp crashed so I'm gonna have to type for her too now =\ Sorry if it's waaaay too long. Komera, to answer your question, Sithi don't interact with other species very often, so they rarely see anybody with normally colored hair. Sithi hair is usually black, white or other colors you wouldn't normally see in hair, like red, blue, green, purple..etc..)

Em'eelaii

Em'eelaii turned to a green haired Sithi and said a few words in her own language, then took Gni and Kit by the arms and led them to a small building. She opened the door and ushered them insdie.

"This is my home, make yourselves comfortable.. I need to go speak top my father... he must be worried sick about me,. If you need anything, just ask." She smiled quickly and slipped out the door, leaving her bow and quiver of arrows scattered across the floor.

Shortly after she left a pink haired Sithi girl came to the home and entered, looked around and frowned. "I'm sorry.. I was jusk looking for Princess Em'eelaii.. Forgive my intrusion.." The young Sithi blushed and scurried out the door, leaving Gni and Kit to gawk.

Kitra

"A...A Princess?!" Kitra managed to sputter out, she was shocked. The scruffy young warrior they had traveled with was a princess?! She fell back and layed on the carpeted floor and stared up at the ceiling. "Man.. these are strange times.."

Liah

"Hmm? Oh me! I'm a firewolf.. not common to this world. I'm from another.. world I mean." She kept heading for the trees at an easy pace. "As for why Tad's name doesn't start with a 'K'.. I don't know.. I think he said he changed it. He was abandoned when he was a baby."

"We're allllmost there..." Liah 's side began to ache as she trotted along, but she was only thinking of finding her friend and companion before something else went wrong.

Lochiel

The ground seemed to be happy with keeping Lochiel stumbling as he walked. He hit the ground again and cursed at the hidden rock he had tripped on. "Are there no hidden rocks in this Seker forsaken world?!!!!!" He yelled in frusration and climbed to his feet again.

He sighed and sat on the ground, picking at the loose fabric of his robe when he heard somebody calling for Ran. He jumped up and looked around. "Ran?! Trayce?!" He ran to the spot he heard the voice and saw Tracye.

He quickly moved over to her and pulled off his outer robe. "Trayce.. are you alright?" She didn't say anything, she just seemed surprised. He threw the robe around her shoulders and smiled. "I'm guessing you don't know where Ran is either..." He pulled the patch down over his eyes and cursed as his head began to slip to one side again.

Tadrith

"Lix! You're okay!... well.. maybe not.." He layed down by the charred fox-man and wrapped his burnt wings around him. He heard the sounds of voices nearby and could only hope iot was Jas and the rest of the party. "Hello!!! Over here!! Lix and I are over here!!!"

(OOC: I hope I didn't forget anybody...)

**~~**

(OOC: Do like I do.  Have a list by you of every character you're doing, then just go down the list.)

Caleb Michael 'Dacken' Harris

'Dacken' backed off, holding up his hands, "Hey, sorry.  I didn't know.  Don't go balistic, I couldn't defend myself."  He didn't have the vagest idea how to fight (which should prove a little interesting if Lady Marrah is a good fighter like I think she is).

Lady Marrah cooly looked at him.  "You don't."  It was more of a statement than a question.

Suddenly extrordinarily nervous, 'Dacken' pushed a lock of silver and magenta hair out of his face before turning aside.  "Say, um... are you hungry?  I have a couple of TV dinners that somehow managed to survive that I pulled from my ... appartment.  Or we could always go through what's left of these stores."  He gestured to the building shambles just over a way.  He then shifted from clawed foot to clawed foot, tucking knee-length tain between legs... very nervous...

Gaudpi Gniyalpi A'nals

Gni was looking at the residents.  "Extrodinary color.  Is it usual for you guys to have such color hair?"

Both Kitra and 'Im'ili looked at Gni, as if saying 'I can't believe you asked that.'

"Sorry I asked," Gni muttered.  He sat down in a chair and ran his hand down it's leg (btw- since I've long since forgotten what form I left him in... he's in human form)... a splinter made itself known.  Gni jerked his finger back.  "Ouch!"  He brought his hand up, and saw that his finger was bleeding.

If anyone thought he was human, they questioned it now.  His blood was black.  Not dark red... black.

Farraphan Dragoon Trayce Iris

Trayce hugged the robe around her body.  "Um... no.  I don't know where Sir Ran is.  I've seemed to have lost him.  I'm cold."  She was shivering and had large goosebumps.

Laubea Wehseta

Still underground.  You didn't really expect an update here, did you?

Lix Fothenk

Lix breathed slowly.  His charred skin didn't allow for anything faster.  He too heard the distant voices, but he couldn't make out who it was.  Only now did he realize part of the reason he was hurting.

He saw the wounds, yes... there was very little clothing intact.   His hurt was coming from laying atop pine needles.

Unnoticed, his dragon sword "S'Daeng Derkesthai" (Don't even say anythinng, Vinnie... Yes I'm ripping of my own chat name (BlackDerkesthai and The_Derkesthai)) shined with a red glow.

The MeAjur Komera Waddi

"He wha...?  Hey!  Wait up!  I'm not exactly in top form you know."  He trotted behind the firewolf, wondering just how the flames kept coming.  "And who's this Cat or whatever you talked to?"

Wingedmene

Wingedmene smiled, but the smile didn't touch his eyes.  In fact, his eyes were completely devoid of any emotion.  It was like he had leared to smile, but didn't feel it.  "Yes, master, it is doing well.

**~~**

Em'eelaii

Em flopped onto her couch and smiled. "It feels so good to be home again..." She took an experimental whiff of the air. "Oo     *hack* I need to take a shower!"

She bolted for her room and shut the door, after slipping out of her dirty and torn clothing, she jumped into the shower to get ready to meet her father, and introduce the two outlanders with her.

Kitra

Kit finally got up, it took her a while to realize that wallowing in self pity would do her no good. She walked over to the kitchen and began to rummage around for some food. She found some things that resembled food and piled them on a tray.

"Hey Gniyalpi? You hungry?" She took the platter out and set in on a table. "I'm famished.." She picked up some kind of fruit and took a bite.

Lochiel

"Aw gees.. yer freezin'.." Loch sighed and picked up Trayce, trying not to seem to forward. "Sorry 'bout this.. but we need ta get someplace warm.." He picked his way trhough the debris and found a somewhat sheltered area.

After clearing away a suitable place and set Trayce down. He took off another robe and layed it over Trayce, leaving himself in his pants and boots. Loch rubbed his hands and a small fire sparked under them. "Woah! Hey hey! I guess my tricks still work." He smiled and a giant flame of purple godfire burst up around a log on the ground.

"Should be warm enough..." He supressed a sudden shiver and leaned back. "Trayce.. you warm enough?" He asked quietly, not wanting to call too much attention to himself. He layed on his side, watching the godfire's hypnotizing wavering and soon fell asleep.

Tadrith

began to get nervous as the voices got louder, neither sounded like Jasmine. He darted quick looks around and grimaced. He spotted a bush that still had most it's leaves and scooped Lix up into his claws. "We gotta hide.." He ducked into the bushes, shielding Lix's form with his broad wings.

As far as Tad could tell, nothing bad was happening so far, but he wouldn't come out unless he knew who was coming.

**~~**

(OOC: Oopsie, forgot Liah =\)

Liah stopped to catch her breath and allow Komera to catch up with her. "Cat..?" She thought for a second, shifting from on her worn paws. "Oh! Kit. she's my liren.. she's in another world.. I was left behind." She sighed and lowered her ehad. "I really miss her.. I just don't feel right without her by my side."

As sson as she had caught her breath, she was off again, darting through the mess, but staying behind Komera so she wouldn't lose him. "This way! I can smell him.." She tok another sniff. "He smells burnt.." She shook her head and burst through the bushes surrounding the trees. "I.. I don't see him.."

**~~**

(OOC: The following characters are not being updated: Caleb Michael 'Dacken' Harris, Laubea Wehseta, Wingedmene.)

Farraphan Dragoon Trayce Iris

Quite honestly, Trayce was just a tad bit too numb to care about being translocated from one spot to another, even if it was in the arms of a stranger... or at least a stranger to her.

She absorbed the fire's heat gratefully, as the sun set on the dead world.  And for the first time in her life... she was truely scared... she felt so alone, even with someone by her side, she felt she was so far away from what she grew up with.

Gaudpi Gniyalpi A'nals

"Me?  Hungry?  I'm afraid you don't want to know what my version of food is.  I'm a being of energy.... we'll I'm the weakest... but still."

He suddenly realized something.  "Lo'kl'iar?"  He could absolutly not feel Lo'k's energy anywhere around... and since Lo'k was the second most powerful R'itni, there was a lot of energy to feel.   The only three reasons he wouldn't feel Lo'k was if A)Lo'k was dead, B)Lo'k was too far away... and that would only be if he left this world, and C) Lo'k's energy was cut off from him.

Gni hoped to his own gods (they do have them, they happen to be the "others" but Gni doesn't know that) that the others didn't kill Lo'k, dispite the pain Lo'k had caused Gni over his entire life.

Lix Fothenk and the MeAjur Komera Waddi

Komera tripped.  "What in the...?"  He looked at what he tripped over.  It looked... alive...  His eyes widdened.  "Oh Lord Kreterra... it's a Farraphan... maybe..."  He looked at what was left of a tail on the Farraphan... no Farraphan he knew of had a tail.

He looked over his shoulder.  "Liah!  You wanna take a look at this?"

(OOC: You know Lix is a R'itni Islands Elemental Warrior, right?  Bet you didn't know: so is Komera!)

**~~**

"Thank you for the offer," said Marrah, puzzling over the meaning
of the word 'TV', "but I am not hungry."  She looked toward the
ruins he had indicated, face expressionless as she said, "If you
do not wish to fight, it would be dishonorable to initiate battle
with you.  Relax."

She looked back toward him.  "Tell me...Dacken...have you any
idea how this," and she gestured toward the ruined city,
"happened?"

"Continuing Saga" Thread

Tadrith

Tad growled as he saw Komera, he wasn't sure what to do, but knew he didn't want anybody else getting near Lix. He pushed off, launcheing out of the bushes and grabbed onto Komera's back.   "Get away! Get away from him!!"

Since Tad hadn't seen another gryphon since he had hatched, he didn't quite know Komera was one. With a hissing snarl, he flung all his weight to one side, roling him and Komera onto Liah.

Kitra

Kit looked up, rather surprised. "Wha..? Lo'k?" She looked around the room. "Where?" She wasn't really sure what was going on, she was busy trying to contact Liah again.

"This place is kinda cool.. Sithi are an interesting species.." She was busy examining a small glowing crystal placed in a niche in the wall. "Wonder how that works.."

Liah

Liah started to answer Komera when Tad leaped out of the bushes and fastened himself on Komera's back. "Tad stop it!" Her words were lost as she was suddenly squashed under both gryphons. "Heeeeey!" She struggled to get up and stop Tad, but wasn't sure how to do that.

Em'eelaii

Em hopped out of the shower and wrapped a bath robe around herself, water dripping from her wings and hair. She walked to her room and slipped on a ceremonal robe along with a silver and ruby collar and a silver circlet on her head. She looked in the mirror and bound her hair up then walked to the living room where Gni and Kit were.

"All right you too, ready to meet my father? I should hope he doesn't mind me bringing you here.." She fiddled with the broad sleeves of her robe and smiled softly. "Shall we go?"

Lochiel

Loch yawned and sat up, stretching by the fire and trying to wake up all the way. He reached down to stir the fire when he saw a hunk of wood sticking out of his side. "Oh damn.." He grabbed the end and yanked, hissing in pain as it slid out a little.

He finally managed to wrench the shard of wood from his side and tossed it into the fire. "Say..uh.. I'll be right back Trayce." He stood up and began searching for something to tie around his wound, keeping his hand over it to try and stop the flow of blood.

Finding a first aid kit in a wrecked city was harder than Loch thought it to be, soon enough he felt the last of his strength fail him and he fell to the ground. "I must be the unluckiest Ihlini alive..." He tried to keep awake as he ripped a strip of fabric from his pants and tied it around his waist, slowing the blood flow, but he had lost too much blood and was already going into shock.

**~~**

Caleb Michael 'Dacken' Harris

'Dacken' refolded his wings, pacing around.  "I ... uh ... think I know what's going on.  Some time ago, I was hacking into a very large computer system for a client when my trouble began.   Everyone and their brother seemed to have piced up an interest in killing me.  Only recently I found out exactly what it was I had hacked.  It was something to do with the Giant of Bab-il in demolishing the world.  Some guy named Wingedmene was in the top spot."

On double hinged legs, 'Dacken' paced off for about a minute.  He came back, extending something in his slender fingers to Lady Marrah.  "Twinkie?"

Farraphan Dragoon Trayce Iris

Trayce was telepathic, like all members of her race.  So when her new aquaintance fell, she knew it.  Getting up and wandering away from the fire, Trayce lost herself in the darkness.

Gaudpi Gniyalpi A'nals

Gni was nervous, for more than one reason.  He was worried over Lo'k, but he was also worried over the reaction of 'Im'ili's father.  Would her father object over him being a R'itna?  What about the hair color?

Gni tripped and fell flat on his face.

Lix Fothenk

Lix fell over backwards.  "Wahhhhhh!"

The MeAjur Komera Waddi

Komera was caught off guard by Tad's attack, but there were two main things in Komera's favor.  First... Tad was young.  Second... Komera was not only trained as a fighter, he had earned the rank of MeAjur.  Even though Tad's sudden attack caused him to tumble end over end (over Liah), Komera picked himself back up and flipped Tad over and off his back.

"What in Lord Kreterra's dominium are you doing?" Komera demanded.

Wingedmene

"Master Lo'kl'iar, what do you wish me to do now?" Wingedmene asked into empty air.  "Yes, master," he answered something unseen.  He stepped back inside the Giant of Bab-il, which began destroying upon his command again.

**~~**

Kitra

Kit winced and helped Gniyalpi to his feet, then followed along behind Em'eelaii. "You okay Gniyalpi?" She smiled at his nod and kept walking. Soon enough she was lost in thought as she tried to get hold of Liah, and figure out what to do.

She was a wanted criminal in this world, what if he turned her in? Would he do that? Em seemed nice enough, but she had learned never to judge a whole race if you knew just one person of that kind. She sighed and trudged along.

Tadrith

Tad landed on the ground upside-down and was staring at Komera from lying on his back. "What are you and who is Lord Krettera?" He asked, bewildered. He had never seen himslef in a mirror and couldn't remember what gryphons looked like. His question earned him an odd look from Komera.

Tad groaned and climbed to his feet, then moved over by Lix, taking a protective stance and growling a little, evern though he was bested by Komera, he wouldn't give up.

Then he saw Liah, who was little more than a firey pancake. "Liah?" He dropped his ear tufts and looked at Komera nervously. "Uh-oh.... Sorry..."

Liah

Liah groaned and tried to get up, but being mashed into the mud didn't really help at all. "I'm.. stuck.." She growled at Tad. "You shoulda listen to me.."

Lochiel

Loch looked up at the sky and shivered. He wondered how long it would take to get up. His side burned at every movement and the only reason he wasn't dead was that he was immortal. Most Ihlini can be killed as easily as a human could, but he had gained something when he was younger. What it was, he couldn't tell, but he really didn't like the ability to not die, it gained him a lot of pain.

He thought he could hear somebody nearby, but he had been laying there too long and had never heard the noises stop, so of course he thought it to be some kind of mental trick. But he had always talked to voices that were never there, why stop now? He took a deep breath and called out. "Hello?! Anybody there?!"

Em'eelaii

Em walked up the stairs to a large room and smiled. The figure seated in the corner of the room looked up at her and grinned. "Father!" She ran over to the Sithi who inreturn stood up and hugged her. "It's so good to be back. I brought some outlanders.. They saved me.. so.."

The other Sithi nodded, his hair was a few shades darker than Em's, but was the same lavender. "I see," He turned to Gni and grinned. "I see you have my duaghters Staja Ame.. white arrow. You are welcome here. Both of you." He nodded. "I am Jiriki, welcome to our home."

"Father," Em started. "This is Gniyalpi and Kitra." She gestured to each one and dropped into the Sithi language. " I know what you're thinking father, but they are both good people... don't hurt them.. don't cast them out.." Jiriki blinked in surprise and nodded.

"Very well daughter.. thay are under your care." Jiriki smiled at Gniyalpi and Kitra. "It is nice to have you."

**~~**

(OOC: Characters not updated: Caleb Michael 'Dacken' Harris, Laubea Wehseta, Wingedmene)

Farraphan Dragoon Trayce Iris

Trayce heard Loch's call.  She wasn't prone to an overactive imagination, so it had to be real.  In fact, she wasn't all that imaginative.  Hearing his voice, Trayce followed it to it's source.

"Aw, you look awful," Trayce muttered.  She bent down and tried to wrap him up as best as her numb fingers could manage.

Gaudpi Gniyalpi A'nals

Having no idea about how to greet a Sithi, Gni opted for a mortal diplomatic approch since the R'itna version was not very nice.  He bowed before 'Im'ili's father, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Su'ahna."  Su'ahna was a relativly new R'itna word, so there might not be an equivelent of it on this world.

In mid sentance, Gni straightened back up, not out of disrespet, but because he had tied 'Im'ili's arrow to a twine connected to his sash, and it had decided to jab into his side when he bowed.   Now a rip in his ninja garb showed a gash bleeding black blood.

It wasn't serious, but this wasn't Gni's day for staying in one piece apparently.

And of course Gni's tention went up.  He had heard some races concider those with black blood to be evil (though in the R'itna case, that wouldn't be far from the truth... with exception of himself).  And 'Im'ili's arrow wasn't white anymore...  Black drops marred it's feathers and it's tip.

Lix Fothenk

Lix looked at Tad through swollen eyes.  "Tad, that's a Battle Chapter gryphon...  A bit pale... COUGH!"  Lix was left in a coughing fit.

The MeAjur Komera Waddi

Komera stood as tall as he could, which wasn't all that tall because he was a runt.  "I am Komera Waddi, MeAjur from the Malan Gryphon Novella."  He saw Tad had no idea what he was talking about.  "I'm from the Battle Chapter Sequal of the Dry Mesas of Mala."  Still no idea what he was talking about.  "I'm from a long way away from here.  My home is on a bunch of mesas that happen to be dry.  I'm in the military and I have a very high rank."

Now that Tad (and Liah) seemed to understand a little bit... Komera added.  "I'm also a prince."

By this time Tad had been helping Liah back up.  But Komera's revelation caught Tad, Liah, and even Lix by surprise.

Maybe it was time to explain...

Komera sighed.  "My real name is Kemoya Ahnan.  I'm the last of the Ahnan family, which is the royal family of the Dry Mesas of Mala.  When my mother, Kamala Ahnan, was still egg heavy with me, my father, Kahnanga Ahnan, a cripple, killed her and left my egg to be devowered.  He was later executed.  I had hatched, and was found and taken back to the Dry Mesas and raised as an orphan, hence Waddi.

"I then joined the army, and almost didn't make it because of my size.  My mentor, Kotoric Dima, had a prophetic vision about me and two others I had trained with, Kalbaba and Kallolo Torid, who are Sentry Chapter gryphons.  Kalbaba later died from a Malacat attack.

"We went to the Malan gryphon novella where I was eventually promoted as the youngest MeAjur.  I helped save the aurora stone kept there which is one of 15 that keeps the four pieces of land and presence from joining and fighting with the energy of doing.   After that battle, I had learned I was really Kemoya Ahnan, but by that time, a great evil had swept through and killed off all tht gryphons living in the Dry Mesas of Mala.  It's rumored that some excaped.

"I fought the one who destroyed it, and won, though I died sometime after.  And sometime after that, I was brought back to life.  I, the MeAjur Komera Waddi, Alpha Elemental Warrior of Air, and I do not know how I've come back."

Lix stopped coughing long enough to say, "Me, too.  I'm alive and I don't know how, except I'm Beta Elemental Warrior of Earth."

**~~**

(I know I wasn't a real part of Windor, but the administarator said noone would mind...unless someone does...)

                   Adrian Ventranas   A grey-armored knight crouched behind a pile of rubble and frowned. This was not what he expected from the official report. The High Council had said that Windor was a prosperous, vibrant, and diverse country. But this death-filled wasteland-?   Adrian had been watching the gryphon and his companions for almost an hour, and decided he could take them if he needed to. The High Commander stood up, removed a white sword from his sheath, and moved toward-what was his name? Komera, maybe. He moved toward Komera and introduced himself. The others stared at him.
                   Tori Glascutter   Tori groaned. Where was the commander? Last she remembered, she had...tripped...when she awoke, he was gone...so embarrassing...   She walked toward a group of people and a...lion-bird creature. Maybe a transport animal, like a horse or one of those imported "chocobos?" She gasped when she heard it talk, but said nothing.   Adrian stood up and moved toward the gryphon. They started talking, but Tori could hear only scattered words. Her head pounded, and she felt a new, unpleasnant sensation. Her world went black, and she could think of only one thing to say.   "ooh...the...Dark Wind howls..."

**~~**

Liah & Tadrith

Tad flopped on the ground besdie Lix and groaned. "You're a gryphon? That's what my parents looked like..?" He closed his eyes and tried not to think about it. Tad was depressed now, but he didn't know why.

Liah looked over at Tad and frowned, then turned to the newcomer. She was a just a ball of fure, mud and fire now, but was still ready for anything.

Em'eelaii

Jiriki nodded to Gniyalpi and handed em a towel, which she in turn took over to Gni and handed it to him. "Are you okay?" She asked softly, not really caring about the arrow. Jiriki on the other hand stared at the blood for a moment before rising.

"You'll have to excuse me, I need to attend to some buisness. You are welcome here and Em'eelaii will take care of anything you need." Jiriki turned and walked out of the hall, leaving Em, Gni and Kit alone in the room.

Lochiel

"Thanks for th' compliment." Loch grinned and sat up, hissing in pain. "Ya didn't have ta come for me.. I would'a made it back eventually.." He lowered his gaze to the ground "Thanks."

After a few moments he decided it wouldn't be worth the effort to go back to their other place and started a new fire.

Kitra

Kit looked over at Gniyalpi and frowned. "Not having a lot of good luck huh?" She slipped a blue vial from her arm band and poured a little of the contents onto the wound. "That should help out." She smiled and replaced the vial.

"Em'eelaii? What exactly are we supposed to do here? Gniyalpi, shouldn't we find Lo'k if he's still here?"

**~~**

(OOC: I've gone from one of two gryphons to THE gryphon?  Did you two new guys eat Tad up or what?... hehehe!

Farraphan Dragoon Trayce Iris

"Yeah... uh... well... I... uh... um... have a lot of interest in protection for myself, particuarly when I have no clothing but what was on your back... yeah, uh... that's the ticket."  What Trayce didn't say (and wouldn't take Loch long to figure out) was that she had some tallent for healing.  It wasn't great, but it was standard fare when dealing with an entire species capable of magic.

Though she was far to cold to properly heal Loch... assuming she could to begin with... she did manage to dull the pain a little.   At least far enough that Loch was able to pull himself to his feet.

Trayce was getting really cold now.

Gaudpi Gniyalpi A'nals

Gni shook his head.  "He isn't here.  I can feel that much.  The last thing I felt was that he was panicked, so the others might have kicked him off."  He took a peep at the wound in his side, it had stopped bleeding and just looked raw now.  It was going to sting for a while.

He sat for a while, but got back up, pacing like mad.  He faced Kitra.  "Kit, is it just me, or does this place not feel right?"

"How is it suppose to feel?" Kitra asked in a tone clearly indicating she thought it doubtful that Gni would know how a place would feel if he had never been there before.

She's right, Gni said to himself.  You're just being paranoid 'cause you can't feel Lo'k anymore.  Ima Sha'i brute's probably dead by now.

But still, Gni couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right.

Lix Fothenk

Lix looked at the two new commers, one hidden, the other not.  He curled up where he was, too battered and bruised to do anything.

The MeAjur Komera Waddi

Komera talked to Adrian, as somehow he had been non-verbally designated spokes being of the group.  It probably had a lot to do with he was the only one in the group who was both adult, mature, and still in one piece.

Standing on claws and paws, Komera slowly tossed his lion tail about.  He was catious about the new commer (he didn't see the other as Lix and his phenominal fox-like eyes did), for even Tadrith was new to him and Tad had attacked, hadn't he?

Wingedmene

The Giant of Bab-il walked forward.  There were three cities of Windor that had amazingly survived, and the giant was waltzing through one of them.  Wingedmene keyed in a few instructions, leaving the now decimated city behind.  He looked ahead, very much uninterested.  "Next stop: Harken."

It had been so long since he had felt anything.  He didn't feel anything in trampeling the rest of Windor, he sure as hell wasn't going to give a finger over Harken.  But, it would be nice to have some emotion again.

"It proceeds well, Master Lo'kl'iar," he reported to the air.   "When it is finished here, we can proceed to this I'knas Vor'ish of yours."

He smiled evilly, but once again, the smile didn't reach his eyes. Yes it would definitly be nice to have emotions again.

OOC: I see you're putting those characters of yours to good use, RedGuardian...  ^_~

In the minute that Dacken was away, Marrah pondered the information he'd given her.  Though the words computer and hacking meant nothing to her, she had heard of the Giant of Bab- il.  Wingedmene was no one she knew, though...  Complicated.

Dacken came back, and she shook her head.  "No, thank you.  I am still not hungry."

Suddenly, Marrah pricked her ears up sharply and put her hand to her sword hilt.  There was a rustling in the decimated woods behind them...

The black wind howls...

Lady Marrah

**~~**

Lochiel

Loch shivered and moved closer to the fire. "Trayce.. you really don't look too warm... I wish I could help.." He looked around a bit more, somewhat irritated that he was helpless for once. Oddly enough, his accent was gone. He growled and tried another trick of his.

A small flare of light burst up around Trayce and became transparent. "Don't panic.. just trying something else my teacher taught me. It should warm you a bit." He jerked as another shiver ran through him.

Em'eelaii

Em growled after her father. "My care.. pfft!"  She began to leave the room, Kitra and Gniyalpi hurried to catch up with her.

As soon as they were a few paces out of the room they encountered a Sithi with fiery red hair wearing green clothing. He saw Kit and Gni and went into a spitting rage, yelling at Em in the Sithi tounge.

"Uncle please!" Em tried to reason with the enraged Sithi but he grabbed her arm and hauled her off through the forest. "I'll be back! Just get moving.. I'll catch up as soon as my uncle is done with me!"

Yes, that means I'm leaving the group for a while, I gotta catch up on my homework o.0

Liah & Tadrith

"Lix?" Tad looked over and poked Lix in the ribs softly with his broad paw. "You okay?" He wasn't really paying attention to the newcomer, he couldn't care less who it was. But that was something that often got him into trouble.

Liah growled and shook her body, the fire had dried the mud and it came off easily, flying all over in big chunks. "So, who are you again?" She asked the newcomer. "I didn't catch it your name the first time." She turned to Tad and snapped slightly. "Tad, don't hurt him anymore than he already is!"

Kitra

Kitra blinked after Em'eelaii. "Nice relative.." She smirked and began to walk toward the exit of the city. "Okay.. I guess we should just go and try to find out what we can about L'ok.." She looked back and sighed. "I just hope Em is better at tracking people than she is at keeping uncles calm." She grimaced. "Sorry, bad joke."

**~~**

Caleb Michael 'Dacken' Harris

'Dacken' dropped the twinkie and spun around.  His lack of fighting knowledge spoke in volumes just by the way he was looking around... forget about the way he was standing.

Farraphan Dragoon Trayce Iris

Trayce sat still, magic was not new to her.  But still, the night was cold.

Gaudpi Gniyalpi A'nals

Gni looked at Kit.  "Why do I get the feeling at least one of us isn't wanted?"  He was refering to himself naturally, but for all he knew (and from what Kitra told him...) they might hate her more than him.  Though he knew they had good reason to hate him too... his race did after all make the lives miserable for just about every race on this world before they were exiled.

Laubea Wehseta

Finally, he moved a hand.

Lix Fothenk

Lix snarled at Tad.  "Pet my head again and I will bite your claw off."  It came as a surprise to Tad, having gotten use to Lix's calm, good, and scared sides.  But this was the wounded side... and getting very annoyed.

The MeAjur Komera Waddi

Still talking with the newcommer.

Wingedmene

Harken loomed near.  The giant proceeded forward.  The city was still untouched, but in time that would change.

Wingedmene remembered a time he had feelings, but an encounter with Lo'kl'iar changed that.  That encounter changed a lot of things.

The Giant of Bab-il continued forward.

**~~**

Tadrith & Liah

Tad yelped and jumped away from Lix, rolling across the ground and coming to a halt in a puddle of mud. "I..uh..I'm sorry..Lix.." He jumped at a tree and climbed up, using his claws like a cat to reach a branch. He curled his tail around it and crouched, watching everybody with wide eyes.

Liah clicked her tounge. "I told you Tad." She turned and continued watched Komera and the newcomer.

Lochiel

Loch sighed and turned his back to the fire, trying to keep warm. He didn't what to do or where to go, just that he was alone with a stranger that he knew little about. He calmly stood and walked to the edge of light cast by the fire and sat on a broken piece of mortar.

For a while Loch just stared at the sky, his eyes blurring with tears.

Kitra

Kitra shrugged. "I dunno, I think the Sithi haven't had non-Sithi visitors for a while. But you're probably right." Kit looked back and began to head towards the nearest city.

"I know we probably shouldn't be heading back to the city so soon... but it's the best place I can think of to find some information about L'ok.. We just need to keep on our toes." She looked back at the Sithi city and bit her lower lip. "Actually, now that I think about it.. It really didn't feel right at all..."

**~~**

A figure emerged from the trees.

"Kyme!" Marrah hissed, drawing her golden rapier.

Behind the visor of his helmet, the Dark Knight grinned.  "Hello, child," he said, a sneer in his voice.  "I've caught up to you at last."  He put his hand to the hilt of the katana at his side.   "And this time, you won't have a Silver Knight or a sorceress to delay your fate."

Marrah looked to Dacken as Kyme drew his sword.  "Get out of here, now," she said, inadvertantly sounding snappish as she tossed him the Sapphire Staff.  "Go as far and fast as you can.   I'll catch up after I have dealt with him..."

Caleb Michael 'Dacken' Harris

(OOC: I trust you're not going to kill off your trademark character.)

'Dacken' thought about staying, but he knew his own fighting skills were non-existant, and the black magic he inherited from his demon side was dearly underused.  So about the only thing left to him was flight.

He lept into the air, flying away from Lady Marrah and her advisary.  Into the darkness, he disappeared.

Farraphan Dragoon Trayce Iris

"ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzz..."

(Guess what Trayce is doing...)

Gaudpi Gniyalpi A'nals

Gni followed Kitra, out of the two of them, she had better luck navigating this place than he did... she was the native after all...

But Kitra's admition that she too felt something wrong did catch Gni by surprise.  But her reminder of Lo'k...  "I'm telling you, he's not here.  He's gone."

Laubea Wehseta

Now moving a foot...  the left foot...

Lix Fothenk

Lix cried, the pain was getting to him.  It was a silent cry that could only be recognized by those who had cried that way, and only if they were to stare at him for a length of time.  But it wasn't just the pain, it was that he had just manage to drive off Tad, a friend.

Now Lix felt terrible.

The MeAjur Komera Waddi

Still talking, no surprise there.

Wingedmene

The giant trampled it's way into Harken.  People screamed in pain as the giant unleashed it's beam.  Wingedmene sat at it's helm, emotionlessly looking at the distruction.

**~~**

Kitra

"Well..uh.. maybe we can find where he went?" She looked around and cursed under her breath. Em'eelaii had led them into a deeper part of the woods she had never seen before.

"Not good.." She turned left and started walking, soon it was evident they were lost, and night was falling quickly. "Aw man... I got us lost.." She sighed and grabbed onto a tree branch, pulling herself up then gazing around for anything familiar.

"See anything?" Gni asked from below.

"Just more trees.." She dropped down and began walking again.

Lochiel

Loch looked back at Trayce, hastily scrubbing the tears from his eyes. "Oh goodie.. no more company." He stood and moved over to tend the fire. The fire popped and he sat beside it, humming tunelessly to himself as he watched the stars.

Tad & Liah
Liah layed down and continued watching Komera and the newcomer.

Tad twitched his tail and kept darting glances from Komera to Liah to the newcomer and to Lix. He wasn't sure when or if he should come down..

**~~**

(Whoa, I didn't know this was full HTML editing...they should let you preview the finished message, right?!)

Adrian Ventranas

He stood and stopped talking. "Wait a minute...is that?" The knight walked over to Tori's "resting place" and looked at her condition. "Hmm...seems alright." Adrian sat down and continued talking. "So...what exactly happened to Windor? My government sent me to survey Windor, but this is nothing like Windor was supposed to be like...was there some sort of...Great Catastrophe?"

Tori

The winds slowly stopped their moaning and she came to. Adrian? was there, talking to the...creature. What was it again? Gryphon... "Ooh..." Everyone turned and looked at her. "...don't mind me. What...happened here?"

Komera turned. "I was just about to answer that..." he said, or that was what Tori heard, anyway.

Umm...I "designated" Komera as the "leader" because...um, actually I couldn't remember who else was there...(uneasy laugh)

**~~**

Kyme loosed his black katana from its sheath, paying no attention whatsoever to the fleeing Dacken.  "Tell me, child, have you had fun with your little friends here in Windor?" he taunted.  "Your play-date seems to have been soured the last few days..."

Marrah held her golden sword in a defensive position.  "Do you know anything about what has happened to Windor?" she demanded of him.

He grinned.  "As a matter of fact, no.  And even if I did, why in the world would I tell you?"

Without warning, he lunged at her, swinging his katana in a wide arc.  Marrah darted out of the way and countered with a quick thrust that jabbed slightly into his sword arm.  Cursing, he came at her again, more quickly, and failing to dodge she blocked his blade with her own.  She tired quickly under the strain of holding out against him.  Beads of perspiration began to drip slowly from her forehead.

Kyme smiled smugly.  He was holding with all his might and hadn't even broken a sweat.  "Too easy," he said, sneering.  "Marrah, dear, you haven't been practicing your swordplay enough, have you?  Or perhaps you've been practicing your magic too much..."

Marrah looked up at him, her eyes filled with loathing, and spoke through gritted teeth.  "You'll see...how much I've been...practicing!"

The golden rapier lit up with a gold-white glow that rapidly transferred itself to Kyme's katana.  He screamed and backed off, dropping the sword from his badly singed hands.

He gave her a look of hatred as she stood in battle stance before him.  "Wretched child...  I have chased you for fifteen years, and this is the best chance I've yet had...  I won't let you get away now!"  Painfully, he picked up his sword and pointed it at her.  "Master of all swords, cut energy!  Night Sword!!"

Marrah screamed in anguish, collapsing to her knees as her very life energy was ripped from her body.  She stayed there for a moment, panting and shivering, and then got back on her feet.

She began to murmur the words to a Cure 2 spell, but Kyme came at her again with Night Sword.  This time she was ready, amd managed to get out of its path.  Kyme gaped, and tried slashing at her, but his singed sword merely scraped her armor.

"Cure 2!" shouted Marrah, who, feeling immediately better, charged toward Kyme with a thrust-and-upward slash that knocked the katana from his hand.

He quickly drew back, summoning the black katana to his hand and sheathing it.  "You've won today, as per usual," he said, scowling, "but it won't be the same next time we should meet."   Then he smiled, regaining his usual arrogant composure.   "Practice using that toy of yours, child...you shall need it."   The Dark Knight teleported away.

Marrah stood for a moment, panting slightly.  Then she turned and began to wonder where Dacken might have gone to...perhaps it would have been a good idea to instruct him on where to go.
